The world that Rhine living isn't the old world. Woman will die in age 20 while Man in age 25.  Her parents has died and she lives with her twin brother, Rowan. She's just 16 when The Gatherer takes her and bring her from Manhattan to Florida. With bunch of girl in the darkness she never know what will faces her. Until the vans door was open and she see a light. The gatherer command the girls to step outside and make a line. Right that she knows, she was sold to be Bride. She know that every girl will be sold to an rich man to carry their baby in order to keep human race, while the Geneticists looking for antidote. Thanks to her heterochromia that  saves her life, along with 2 other girls, She faces a new life. While the other got back to vans and, die.

She wakes up in the mansion,and she knows she is trapped here. And then she meets Gabriel, one of the attendant who brought her brekfast and as she hears a cough and looking for where's the sound cames. She see a girl, about age 20, Her faces is pale and there's a blood in her lips. She knew it was Housegovernor first wive. Later Rhine knew her name is Rose. After Rose see Rhine trying runaway, they both getting closer. Rose shared alot about this mansion and her life. And she tell Rhine to save Linden and be his first wives after She died.

And then along with the other Brides, Jenna the oldest one and Cecily which only 13 was married to Linden. It's Cecily which grown up in orphanage that happy because she wish this life so much. While Jenna and Rhine isn't as happy as their freedom was taken away. Rhine and Gabriel draws closer everyday. After Rose death, Rhine planned to be Linden's first wives to earn his trust so She can run away. And  then Cecily pregnants. One day when Rhine and Gabriel in the kitchen, there's a strom and Gabriel took her down t the basement, In the basement she hear a familiar voices, one of them is Housmaster Vaughn, Linden's father and there's a bed, she saw the pinkish nail and she knew it Rose.

After the scene in the basement, Rhine know there's something wrong in this mansion, with Gabriel she planned to runaway. Because the two of them have share a bond.While Linden is hopelessly in love with her. But when Rhine finally be Linden's first wive and earn his trust. The secret reveal, that there's something wrong in this mansion.

I want to read this book since last years, but because there's so many review that said this book was bad, I drop it. And planned to read this after I bought Fever, I cannot read a series without reading the first book, right? So I downloaded the ebook to save much money. The story a bit  making me like "ugh". Especially when Cecily get pregnant, its like "OMG! She's only 13 and pregnant!" and the though of Linden having a 3 wive it's a bit making me tired. The dystopia didn't takes much in this book since the whole story is take a scene in mansion so I can't imagine the world. And I love the romance, I don't know what to say. It's worst but I like it. And right from the start I didn't like Cecily, she's such a brat-_- and Housemaster Vaugh, he is a true villain!

This is how I pictured Rhine, and I know! Kate Bosworth already 30,but she's so beautiful yet young in here!
